Concerned About Costs?

A dental crown at our Orlando practice costs around $1,290-1,490 per tooth. However, we do not want financial barriers to prevent patients from receiving the care they need to enjoy a healthy and beautiful smile. Here is how we make dental crown treatment more affordable:

Insurance

Our dentists work with most insurance providers to reduce or eliminate your out-of-pocket costs. Our team will verify your coverage before treatment begins so you can plan and budget.

Financing

We accept multiple financing options, including CareCredit®, Springstone Financial®, and Proceed Finance. We also offer in-office financing (no credit check) and an extended payment plan (interest-free financing available).

Dental Coverage Plan

Our Dental Coverage Plan is a great option for patients without insurance. This plan provides two exams a year, two check-up X-rays, two cleanings, one full mouth X-ray (every five years), and 20% off dental work (some exclusions apply).

The Dental Crown Treatment Timeline What to Expect From Start to Finish

Consultation

During your initial consultation, your dentist will examine your mouth and discuss your concerns and goals to determine if a dental crown is the right treatment for you.

Preparatory Treatment

If you need preparatory dental treatment, such as root canal therapy, this will be performed first.

Anesthetic

Your dentist will first numb the area with a local anesthetic. This will ensure you are completely comfortable during treatment. We also offer sedation options for those who prefer an extra level of comfort.

Tooth-Prep

Your dentist will prep the tooth by reshaping it. This allows the crown to fit and function properly.

Impressions

Next, we will take impressions of your mouth with intraoral cameras. This digital technology eliminates the need for messy and often uncomfortable putty impressions.

Fabrication

The impressions are sent to our CEREC machine, where your crown will be crafted.

In some cases, we'll recommend a lab-crafted crown. If you need a crown crafted in the lab, your dentist will place a temporary crown while you wait.

Crown Placement

Once your porcelain crown is ready, Dr. Koyfman or Jones will bond it in place. You are then ready to enjoy your beautiful new smile.

Take a Closer Look at How Porcelain Crowns are Placed

During this dental treatment, the tooth is carefully reshaped before your dentist bonds the crown in place. This allows for a proper fit with your natural teeth.

Frequently Asked Questions About Dental Crowns in Orlando, FL

Q. Why not just pull a damaged or decayed tooth?

A. While it may seem simpler and cheaper to pull a damaged tooth, even a single missing tooth can cause the jaw bone to deteriorate over time. A missing tooth can also cause your other teeth to shift out of place. These issues may require more extensive dentistry treatments in the future. Your dentist will only perform a tooth extraction as a last resort, as it is best to maintain the tooth structure.

Q. Are there alternatives to porcelain crowns?

A. Depending on the extent of the damage, anterior teeth can be restored or concealed with porcelain veneers. Veneers are thin porcelain shells that fit over the surface of a tooth. However, they are not appropriate for very compromised teeth or back teeth due to the bite force exerted when chewing foods. Other alternatives for dental crowns include dental bonding and dental bridges for missing teeth. During a consultation, your dentist will help you determine which dental treatment is best for you.

Q. What materials do you use for dental crowns?

A. Our Orlando dentists craft our crowns using IPS e.max® or Zirconia. IPS e.max crowns are made of lithium disilicate, an ultra-durable porcelain. Zirconia is a more affordable option made of a translucent metallic oxide. Both provide natural-looking results that can last for 15 years or more with proper care.
